The second trimester of my second plant-based pregnancy has to be, by far, the best trimester in my opinion. I got my appetite back, my energy levels were back to normal and I'm not having the aches and pains that come more in the third trimester as the belly grows.
We also announced if we're having a boy or girl! Watch the video here.
Working out
During this pregnancy I'm making exercise a priority, which I didn't do so much when I was pregnant with Rowan. Working out has been one of those things at the top of my list, as I explained here, there's a lot of benefits that come with working out during pregnancy.
I didn't start a new workout routine. I'm doing things that I did even before getting pregnant but I didn't workout out much in my first trimester due to feeling sick 24/7.
I'm mostly doing workouts on our Peloton bike and prenatal yoga from the Peloton app. Make sure to check with your doctor before starting a new workout program.
Nutrition
Getting back on track with my nutrition has been amazing! I'm so glad I'm enjoying salads and smoothies again.
I shared a “What I Eat” post and I will tell you it did not look like that during my first trimester so if you're going through that now, I'm here to tell you there's light at the end of the tunnel and you will be able to to enjoy your healthy foods again!
During this trimester I've also started drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea every day. You can read all about the benefits of it for pregnancy, but also if you're not pregnant! This RRLT Latte is my favorite way to drink it.
Self Care
Another thing I've added to my daily routine is applying this lotion. All the ingredients in it benefit the skin. I've been asked how I prevent stretch marks and while I think a lot of it is genetics, I do think drinking lots of water and using this lotion helps. I used this lotion during my first pregnancy and didn't get any and so far none with my second.
Something fun we did during this trimester was take a trip to Maui. I highly recommend doing some fun things and taking time for you before baby gets here because once they are here there's no getting this time back.
We wanted to do one last big hurrah before becoming a family of 4 and entering the newborn life again so we booked this trip 3 weeks before we left! I'm still working on a post all about our trip, but for now you can check out my Instagram highlights labeled HAWAII to see all that we did and all the yummy, healthy food we ate!
As I finish writing this now I'm well into my third trimester and I'll be posting about that soon! If you want to see more about my pregnancy journey make sure to follow me on Instagram. I have story highlights of this pregnancy saved there. Be sure to read about my first trimester here.
