This drink is cozy, comforting and filled with lots of health benefits! It’s perfect for the colder weather because it boosts your immune system and helps keep the body thriving.
Turmeric is one of the best things we can add to our diet and this is a sweet way to do it.
It’s shown to help reduce inflammation, improve brain health and boost the immune system.
Not only that, but it’s also shown to help prevent and treat a number of different diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer’s and cancer.
Here’s the thing, most adults have inflammation in their body. Inflammation can increase after eating just one unhealthy meal.
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory, which will reduce inflammation so it’s good to try to get it in on the regular since inflammation leads to disease and a host of other problems.
But you must remember when using turmeric is to make sure to add black pepper with it because your body will absorb more of it when the two are combined, which means more health benefits!
This latte can be enjoyed any time of the day.
I like to drink it at night as a sweet treat to end the day, but it’s just as good in the morning.
I try to have turmeric every single day.
Besides using it in this latte, I also make a turmeric water in the morning, if you watch my Instagram stories you’ve definitely seen it on there.
I’ll also add 1/4-1/2 tsp of turmeric in recipes if it’s not already in there. Like, when I make spaghetti with red sauce, I’ll add a little to the sauce.
For more ways to get turmeric in try out some recipes like tofu scramble, curry or even this healing soup, which I recommend if you’re really starting to feel under the weather!
This Turmeric Latte makes enough for two, but if you have leftovers you can store it in the fridge and just reheat later.
Enjoy!
Easy Turmeric Latte
Equipment
- Blender
- Pot
Ingredients
- 3 cups Cashew Milk (or other non-dairy milk)
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- ½ inch Ginger Root (if you don't like a strong ginger flavor, use less or 1/4 tsp ground ginger powder)
- ¼-½ tsp Cinnamon
- 6-9 Dates (depending on sweetness desired)
- ¼ tsp Black Pepper
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend together. Once it's all blended, taste it before you pour into a pot on the stove. If you need to adjust the seasonings, do so. If you don't want it sweet, use fewer or no dates. If you want more turmeric or ginger, add it. Then, pour in a medium sized pot on the stove and heat until it's hot, but not boiling. Should only talk a few minutes.
Hi Megan…does this have the same effects if you drink it cold? I love golden Milk and make it on a regular basis
