2 Day Detox

Happy New Year! It's the end to the season of holiday cheer and feasting. Now time for resolutions and start off  with a clean slate. This was my first year of being completely plant-based and even though I was eating way better foods for my body, I did overindulge a little too much, but still didn't feel as bad as I use to eating processed foods. 

Around Thanksgiving I was already feeling a little blah from all the goodies I had been eating.  I didn't beat myself up about it because it's just that time of year where sweets seem to be around every corner. Even though I make healthier sweets, you can still have too much of a good thing.

I decided I wanted to do a detox, but I'm not one of those people that can live off just juices for a week. I wanted a quick and easy fix that wouldn't make me feel deprived, but still rid the symptoms of bloat, water weight and more. I was going out of town in two days so I decided to make a 2-day plan of detoxifying meals that would get me back to feeling good and it did just that! I even lost 4 pounds!

One thing I learned when I became certified in holistic nutrition was that we need whole foods to detoxify our bodies and get rid of toxins, bloatedness and regain energy. Things like greens, beans and berries are all great detoxifiers.
